Hello everyone, this is Ken, and I am quite possibly the most skeptical person that I know. You get that way after living 3 decades in the field as a self-employed blue-collar engineer. So, by the first retirement I was convinced that I had heard everything that didn’t make sense and seen most of it. It was only after the 2nd retirement there was no doubt in my mind that you should believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see.
Shortly after Jeanne and I relocated to SWLA (Southwest Louisiana) I ended up with two broken feet and when you are operating a restaurant that you invested most of your retirement savings in, there isn’t time to simply set around waiting for things to heal. Neither foot ever truly healed as I just kept re-breaking them to the point that they became calcified between the breaks and then I got so lucky that planter fasciitis set in both. For about 3-4 years I lived on over the counter pain relief pills and could only average 1-3 hours per night sleep. I am living proof that you can function as a walking Insomniac. So, like every good husband should do, I give into Ms. Jeanne and every day she starts rotating this patch between the left and right foot. I cannot tell you how long it took for these little white patches to start working as one morning I just woke up and realized that I had been sleeping 7-8 per night for the first time in years.
